Watch Trent Reznor, Josh Homme & Dave Grohl perform “Mantra” from the Sound City soundtrack

Sound City is bringing all sorts of awesome stuff our way.  Today we get a studio recorded video of Trent, Josh and Dave recoding “Mantra” from the Sound City soundtrack.  The over 7 minute track from the soundtrack to Dave Grohl’s directorial debut documentary Sound City is one of eleven original tracks that were recorded.  It’s a head bobbing good time in the studio with these three.  Check it out here.

The Sound City soundtrack, Sound City: Real to Reel, is available on March 12th.  The lineup of musicians is ridiculous: Robert Been, Peter Hayes, Alain Johannes, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and that’s not even half of them.  We don’t want to spoil the video for you, but let’s just say we were waiting patiently for Trent to grab the mic and scream some ominous verse into it… very patiently.  Enjoy!
