Saul Williams has been calling the city of Paris, France home for months now, and it seems as if news from the artist has been slow traversing back to us here. His latest album, Volcanic Sunlight, was released months ago in Europe, but today the US finally gets the official release. Saul, always looking for innovative ways to present his art, filmed a video featuring some new material from Volcanic Sunlight. It’s not your traditional music video- it’s a raw 30 minute adventure deep within the catacombs below Paris.
We’ll have a full review of the new album Volcanic Sunlight next week. For now, feel free to take a journey below Paris with Saul as he performs new material in a setting very few see. These are not the tourist trap catacombs that were made beautiful for paying customers, these are the ones that were built hundreds of years ago and forgotten by most human beings. Saul has always been about raw emotion and power, and this video just takes it to another level once again for the artist.
