Its been over fifteen years since The Sounds broke onto the scene with a pop-sense for New Wave. The Swedish band has since released five studio albums, and their latest release Weekend has put them back on the indie-rock map. If the bands latest single sounds like something from Shiny Toy Guns, then you have your thinking wrong. Pretty much everything from a band like Shiny Toy Guns owes a lot to The Sounds. Credit lead singer Maja Ivarsson with being one of the late 90s front women to usher in a tide of indie-pop bands with a New Wave sound and female lead.
The band is on a massive North American tour in support of Weekend and they are stopping by the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on March 21st with Blondfire and Strange Talk. We are not going to stop you from dancing through the San Francisco night with The Sounds, no, we are going to help you get in. We are giving away pairs of tickets to the show, and it’s easy to win!
