It’s been quite the road for Deafheaven over the past four years. What started as a two-piece band with George Clarke and Kerry McCoy self-releasing a demo album in 2010 has grown into a five-piece black metal touring band with two full albums under their belt. It was the 2013 release, Sunbather, that made the music world take notice of this San Francisco born group. The band has already had three members leave since they started touring in 2011. Regardless of who has been in the band for live shows, singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy drive Deafheaven sonically and spiritually.
Deafheaven return to San Francisco on July 2nd, and we will surely have more on that homecoming as it gets closer. Until then, we have a treat for our readers in Los Angeles. Deafheaven come to the El Rey Theatre next Friday, and then are off for festival in China, Taiwan and Singapore. If you want to catch them in the states, this is your chance. If you want to get in on the house, here’s what you need to do:
