Lou Reed and Metallica have joined forces for an unlikely combination of genres and generations. Lou Reed wrote all 10 songs on the new album Lulu, but Metallica provided all new musical arrangements and recorded almost everything live with Reed in studio. Lou Reed leads us on a walk through the dark and deviant recesses of his mind, as usual, but this time laid over the metal blanket of Kirk Hammett’s riffs. Give it a listen after the jump and let us know what you think!
Stream the music on the bands’ website here.
Lulu is available in North America November 1. There has also been some talk about Lou Reed and Metallica promoting Lulu with a series of live shows, so stay tuned to RB for the latest.
