Renowned 22 year old Swedish DJ and EDM Producer Alesso is coming to SBE’s Greystone Manor Supperclub in LA as party of its summer EDM series. Greystone Manor hosted Sebastian Ingrosso, one third of the DJ super group Swedish House Mafia (SHM), on May 24 to kick off its Memorial Day weekend. Now Alesso, DJ Mag’s #70 ranked DJ in 2011, is lined up for the Tuesday after 4th of July weekend! Tickets, info, and tracks after the jump!
The EDM scene continues to explode across the U.S., as evidenced by the tremendous turnout at electronic music festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival and the significant increase is EDM DJs headlining at most major music festivals including Coachella (for our LA readers). Yet, Los Angeles seems to be behind the curve. While Las Vegas hosts the world’s top ranked DJs on a weekly basis, LA falls back on the only occasional appearance by any top-100 DJ. This is why Ingrosso’s set at Greystone Manor in May was such a welcome surprise, and why there is so much excitement about Alesso’s July 10 set.
Alesso is not the most established DJ, at 21 years old he only recently came onto the scene in 2011 and has only a handful of singles and EPs. He has seen a tremendous increase in popularity riding the musical wave of fellow Swede Ingrosso. He has made his name collaborating with Ingrosso on the hit single “Calling (Lose my Mind)” and with his remix of SHM’s “Save the World.” Like his Swedish DJ counterparts SHM, Alesso specializes in progressive house music and, after receiving Ingrosso’s endorsement, the EDM scene is beginning to take notice of the young DJ.
Alesso made his biggest mark on the Southern California EDM scene with his spectacular Coachella performance this year. He put on what is widely considered the surprise performance of the festival, playing to a spectacular lighting & sound arrangement in the Sahara tent. He has only gained momentum and popularity since Coachella, and now LA EDM fans have an opportunity to see him in a much more intimate setting.
