The Hollywood Bowl is one of the best venues in Los Angeles, and it almost has nothing to do with the actual venue itself. The Bowl sports a BYOB policy for alcohol, and also offers a less than $7 roundtrip shuttle across Los Angeles to its location. While the Bowl usually has concerts of the more adult contemporary and nostalgic genres, their final summer show in September is something completely different with TV On The Radio, Arctic Monkeys and Warpaint.
We love our trips to the Hollywood Bowl, but I’ve always wanted to get a group together for a more contemporary show. Well this is it! I’ve seen TV On The Radio a few times when they toured with Nine Inch Nails, and they put on an awesome show. The Arctic Monkeys are fresh off of their latest album Suck It And See, which we reviewed a few weeks ago. It’s a solid album that continues a positive change in sound for the band compared to their first few albums. Warpaint is a band I have heard a lot about from my friends at Vestal– they tend to be right on for their music choices so I’m going with them on this one. If you have never been to the Hollywood Bowl, this is a great reason to go. Bring some wine and a bottle of whiskey and enjoy one of the most beautiful venues in Los Angeles.

For your pleasure, here is TV On The Radio performing “Wolf Like Me”, definitely my favorite song from the group:
