Henry Rollins will host a benefit concert “Life- just add water” with his friends at the Avalon in Hollywood on November 30. The show will feature performances by Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) and other music legends including Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction, etc.), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), and John 5 (Rob Zombie’s Band). 100% of the proceeds benefit Drop In The Bucket, a non profit organization raising funds to provide clean and sustainable water to schools in sub-Saharan Africa. This is an opportunity to see great music and support a great cause. Ticket info and more after the jump!
The benefit show is more than just a collection of a rock, punk, and metal icons. It is an entire night of entertainment! There will be DJ sets by Shepard Fairey (Obey Giant) and Brandon Schoolhouse (Han Cholo) as well as a comedy routine by Kate Flannery from “The Office”. Finally, it is an LA benefit show, so it wouldn’t be complete without a performance by Boots Electric! This is a pretty amazing lineup and a great way to spend your Wednesday night.
Taylor gives us a little insight into the cause: “In a time when money is suspect, and politics looks a lot like schoolyard bullying, people forget that there are far greater issues going on in the world. One of which is the fact that millions of people live without water on a daily basis when we as Americans treat it like used tissue paper. It’s only common sense to think that if I can do something to not only help, but also raise awareness, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
Tickets are $25 if purchased through Ticketmaster (click here) or $35 at the door.
“Drop In The Bucket believes we can help create a world in which children are safe, healthy, educated and free from fear. And we believe that the key to achieving those ends is clean water and sanitation.” For more information on Drop In The Bucket, please visit their website.
