The best show in Los Angeles in November might just be happening on the first day of the month. That’s a bold statement, but when you put together two Rabbits Black favorites in Dax Riggs and EFG (Electric Flower Group) in a small setting like the Satellite in Silverlake, it’s hard to argue there’s a better show for the money coming into town. Buy your tickets beforehand, because you don’t want to miss this one.
Dax comes through Los Angeles at least once a year, but the Louisiana-based artist isn’t here enough if you ask us. He’s not touring in support of any new material, but that doesn’t matter. Dax Riggs is rock n’ roll for metal heads to hipsters. The lead singer of the 90s metal band Acid Bath is a legend amongst some circles in the scene. When Dax is in town, its a must-see. Then you add in EFG- the band we put on over two years ago when they only had a three song EP. Every time we catch the three piece that is led by Josh Garza and Imaad Wasif, they are even louder and better than the time before. It’s really an amazing thing to see a band go from living room jam sessions to a powerful live force on stage at the Fonda. EFG just brought on a new bassist, Tom Biller, who helped produce and record the band’s full length record that they just finished. Listen for songs from the full length on Friday.
We really don’t see a better show on the calendar for November in Los Angeles. This is it- be there on Friday night in Silverlake for the price of two beers in Hollywood.
