Only eight months after their unforgettable performance at the Great American Music Hall, Blind Pilot are back with another tour for 2012! In addition to playing Bonnaroo and Sasquach, Blind Pilot will hit venues all over the nation, including The Fillmore in San Francisco and The Fonda in Los Angeles. Rabbits Black has been captivated by Blind Pilot’s catchy blend of indie folk since the release of their debut album, 3 Rounds And A Sound. Blind Pilot are not a band to miss, and their live show is an experience unto itself. Don’t miss this chance to catch Blind Pilot’s live performance.
Blind Pilot caught the industry’s attention in 2008 after Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski were hot off the heels of their West Coast bicycle tour. It didn’t hurt that 3 Rounds And A Sound was one of the best albums of 2008. The band’s debut album set a precedence of consistent and conscientious songwriting that resulted in 2011’s gem We Are The Tide. Since 2008, Nebeker and Dobrowski’s writing and arranging process has changed—the duo have since added Luke Ydstie, Kati Claborn, Ian Krist, and Dave Jorgensen to fill out the band’s sound—but their aptitude for creating dependably charming tunes carries through Blind Pilot’s sophomore release.
We Are The Tide presents a much fuller sound than 3 Rounds And A Sound, and the core splendor underlying Blind Pilot’s music only benefits from the band’s fleshed-out lineup. Both albums have a knack for catching your ear with a hook, clever line, or haunting melody. Blind Pilot’s live show exudes an unexpected energy that draws the crowd through the ups and downs of each song. With a relentless tour schedule under their belts, the band’s stage presence will only improve. Will Kati perform her captivating rendition of “Rock, Salt, and Nails” on this tour? Will this tour’s opening acts perform any impromptu collaborations with Blind Pilot like Gregory Alan Isakov did last fall? How can the band top their entirely acoustic rendition of “3 Rounds And A Sound” as the show’s closer?
The answers to these questions and more will all be answered this summer when Blind Pilot bring their blue tour bus to a town near you.
Tickets for the Fillmore show on July 6 are on sale now and available here; tickets for the Fonda show on July 7 are available here.
