On October 18th we have a real treat for all of you jazz fans out there! In Temecula at the Downtown Community theatre at 7:30pm, a brand new jazz trio called Accidental Tourist will be having a release concert for their recently released album, The L.A. Sessions. Headed by German pianist Markus Burger, the band also consists of rhythmic power players: Drummer Joe LaBarbera (best known for his works with Bill Evans & Tony Bennett) and bassist Bob Magnusson (best known for his works with Art Pepper & Bobby Shew).
The album mainly consists of Burger’s own compositions but also a couple tips of the hat to various artists such as Don Grolnick with the opening track Grolnicks and then to Bill Evans with Burger’s own rendition of the Gerschwin’s 1935 I Loves Porgy, which was recorded by Evans in the early 1960’s.
This will be an amazing night for all jazz lovers! Come on out and listen to some wonderful music over a plate of cheese and a glass of wine and support an amazing jazz trio that will surely leave you speechless!
