How To Destroy Angels (HTDA) will be performing live for the first time ever at Coachella 2013. That’s huge news for Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor fans. The HTDA debut is reason enough for many die-hard fans to shell out the cash for Coachella this year. When we saw Nick Cave getting double the love on the Coachella bill with The Bad Seeds and Grinderman, our minds raced for a second that maybe Nine Inch Nails would swoop in for a one-off Saturday night headline spot- how are minds can run when we get excited. We can almost guarantee that won’t be happening, but it’s looking highly likely that Nine Inch Nails will be returning in late 2013! Yes, read that one more time… “high likely” and “2013”. Check out the clues!
Trent and Nine Inch Nails art director Rob Sheridan have said for years now that The Fragile remaster and reissue in 5.1 or 7.1 Surround Sound would happen. We’ve been hearing about this since 2008. Lately though, no new information has been released on The Fragile remaster, but Trent has been dropping hints here and there that new Nine Inch Nails material wasn’t far off and ideas have been falling into the NIN category recently. Those clues have been enough to keep fans waiting in feverish anticipation for any sliver of information. Trent has seemed content with growing the How To Destroy Angels brand recently, but it looks like 2013 will be a big year for the NIN as well. Here’s a little article posted on Create Digital Music today with this following snippet:
These last two items gave me chance to hang out with two important digital guitarists. Adrian Belew, who was scoping out TriplePlay, seemed tickled pink by the recent news that he’ll tour this year as Nine Inch Nails’ guitarist.
The 63 year old guitarist has worked with Trent over a period of 15 years as a studio musician. His most notable work with Trent has been as a studio guitarist for The Downward Spiral, The Fragile and Ghosts I-IV. Visions of you holding an official re-release of The Fragile in your hands, and attending a live Nine Inch Nails show with Adrian Belew as the touring guitarist in 2013 should be dancing in your head right now. During the Wave Goodbye tour, fans were treated to a few shows with The Downward Spiral played in it’s entirety. In 2013, hopefully you will be seeing The Fragile live.
All the pieces do fit and we really do give a shit.
Shout out to The NIN Hotline who found the piece in Create Digital Music.
