The Call are getting back together for a special two show performance in April of this year. The band is bringing Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s Robert Been on board for this special engagement. Robert’s father, Michael Been, was a founding member of the band as their vocalist and bassist. Robert will be honoring his father during this special two show run by performing on bass and vocals as well. The Santa Cruz band disbanded in 1990, but Robert has been active in reviving the band since his father died in 2010. Shows are scheduled in April at Slim’s in San Francisco and The Troubadour in West Hollywood. Information on how to buy tickets for this very special event are available here.
All of The Call’s original members will be joining Robert on stage- Scott Musick, Tom Ferrier, and Jim Goodwin. The Call was best known for their hits “The Walls Came Down”, “I Still Believe”, “Everywhere I Go” and “Let The Day Begin”. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club covered “Let The Day Begin” as the first single for their upcoming new album Specter At The Feast:
Right now the tour is limited to two special engagement nights- the first at Slim’s in San Francisco on April 18th, and the second the next night at The Troubadour in West Hollywood. Tickets will go on-sale Friday, March 1st from the band’s website: www.the-call-band.com. We’ll update the ticket links below with more information as we get it.
