So what music festival in California booked the most impressive headliners this year? It’s a competition between BottleRock in Napa and Outside Lands in San Francisco. Outside Lands released their 2103 lineup today, and it’s packed with the type of eclectic music and bands that fit the Bay Area perfectly. Want that one headliner you can’t see at any other festival this year? Paul McCartney. Two huge iconic bands that would be headliners anywhere in the world? Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers. And that’s just at the top. Throughout the lineup you will find artists who are not playing any other festivals: Willie Nelson, Gary Clark Jr., Kaskade, even Hall and Oates (yes, that Hall and Oates). Check out the goodness here!
Congrats to the festival organizers in Northern California. The California giant may still be Coachella, but there’s no doubt that Outside Lands has been steadily increasing the pressure on their So Cal competitors for the last few years. Both experiences offer something totally different- one is your desert oasis catering to the younger indie scene, with a touch of nostalgia scattered throughout. Outside Lands on the other hand is a mixed bag of artists… from legends such as Paul McCartney and Willie Nelson, to the now iconic artists of their time in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chili Peppers and Nine Inch Nails. There’s also a nod to electronic and dance- Kaskade, Zedd and Pretty Lights. What can we say? We like it! Outside Lands is another must-attend festival this year, and we are proud to have it in San Francisco!
Tickets go on-sale this Thursday at Noon. And guess what, you’ll only have to pay $235 for all three days. Now that’s what a music festival is about!
