The annual Noise Pop Music Festival in San Francisco is set to kick off tonight! The Opening Night Party for this independent culture expo will be at Rickshaw Stop on Fell Street, featuring Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth. Gordon’s new experimental group Body/Head, a collaboration with noise aficionado Bill Nace, is set to headline the kickoff show tonight (I know, calling Gordon’s music experimental at this point is a bit redundant). So head down to Fell Street in a few hours and get ready for a cacophony of experimental noise. These two music/noise revolutionaries will be supported by Horsebladder, Burmese, and Noel von Harmonson. Tickets only available at the door (we recommend showing up early). It hasn’t been too long since Sonic Youth announced an indefinite hiatus in 2011, and apparently Gordon has found a way to keep herself busy. For the full Noise Pop lineup, and other news on the independent culture festival, go to the official Noise Pop website.
