Markus Schulz, one of the hottest DJs in the world who over the past year has been dominating the Las Vegas scene, is coming to LA in February for a set of two very special shows. Starting in 2005, Schulz has selected a single city in the world as inspiration for his yearly compilation series. The series started with Miami in 2005, and has seen Schulz pay homage to Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Toronto over the years. Before the end of 2011, he announced in a video broadcast that the City of Angels would be his newest and latest inspiration for the 2012 compilation. What better way to celebrate than two release shows at The Avalon in Hollywood. Ticket info right here!
To say Markus Schulz has taken the electronic scene by storm this past year is an understatement and also an exaggeration in some regards. Schulz has been regarded as one of the world’s best trance DJs for almost a decade now, but something changed for Markus in 2011. Maybe it was his consistent gigs at Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub in Vegas- the new it place on the strip. Markus was as close to a resident DJ as you could get there, and being the guy at Marquee in 2011 only made his sets and audience bigger. But bigger is not always better, as we have seen with top DJs over the years. Luckily, Markus has been able to reign in his growing popularity while staying true to his German trance roots that he developed in the early 90s. No selling out here, not for Markus. He is currently ranked as DJ Mags #9 DJ in the world, and he’s only going up.
Be sure to check out the Los Angeles 2012 Compilation release parties at the Avalon. Markus put on one of the Avalon’s most talked-about shows a few years ago when he ended his set at 7 AM after feeding off of the energy of the crowd- yes a 6 hour set! Simply put, these two dates are two of the most important in the electronic music scene in LA of 2012.
