As festival season gets going, a slew of artists are making their way to Los Angeles. With so many great concerts going on sale tomorrow, we are here to tell you which acts will have us trolling Ticketmaster at 9:58 am this Friday and Saturday, and we’ll even give you some pre-sale passwords so you can skip the rush on a few.
Jack White comes to the Shrine on Friday, August 10th (the weekend of Outside Lands! meaning we can expect him to play Saturday or Sunday there). Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 am.
The Kills are playing two shows in Los Angeles in August after playing the aforementioned festival – they’ll be here Monday, the 13th and Tuesday, the 14th at the Mayan theater. Monday tickets are already available, and Tuesday’s tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 if you’re looking for a way to relieve (or exacerbate) your post-Outside Lands blues. Black Bananas will be supporting the Tuesday night show, which is sponsored by KROQ. If Kills front-woman Alison Mosshart doesn’t join Jack White for at least one Dead Weather song at Outside Lands, we’ll definitely need some relief.
Alabama Shakes are another Outside Lands act making a much-appreciated visit to the Los Angeles area. The soul rockers from the dirty South are playing the Fox Theater in Pomona on Wednesday, August 15th. Tickets on sale tomorrow at 10 am. Antibalas support.
Gotye, the Australian singer-songwriter whose single “Somebody That I Used to Know” has taken the world by storm will be playing the Greek in September on Tuesday the 4th, with Chairlift and Jonti opening. Expect a fervent crowd well-versed with Gotye’s work as well as that of The Basics, the indie-pop trio he has been a part of since 2002. Just kidding, this is L.A.! Expect a sing-along to “Somebody” with blank stares up to and after that point. Tickets on sale at 10 am tomorrow, or you can get them in the pre-sale now with the password WOUTER.
Grizzly Bear will be in Los Angeles playing the Greek Theater on Wednesday, October 10. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 am, but you can get them now with the pre-sale password GRIZZLYBEAR.
AWOLNATION is rolling into town too, playing Club Nokia on Thursday, October 11. You can buy tickets Friday at 10 am, or now with the pre-sale password FAULT.
The Austin-based electro-rock-dance music duo Ghostland Observatory are bringing their sick light show to Club Nokia in just a few short weeks on July 1st. Tickets on sale Saturday at 10 am, but you can get yours in the pre-sale tomorrow from 10 am to 10 pm with the password RONDO.
The Walkmen are coming through town as well, playing the John Anson Ford Theater on Wednesday, September 12. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10 am.
Rounding out this ticket alert are Danish indie-rockers the Raveonettes, who are playing the El Rey Theater on Monday, October 8. Melody’s Echo Chamber open. Tickets on sale Saturday at 10 am.
Will Jack’s hair be this frizzy in August? You’ll have to see him to find out! Ghostland Observatory will blow your mind with their bangin’ light show. We love the Alabama Shakes and you
