Spotify is the new big thing in the US! Well at least on Twitter and through social media we are being led to believe that. While Spotify is not the second coming of the MP3 revolution, it is a welcome presence in the streaming and music sharing world. There are a lot of songs and artists on Spotify, and you can stream hours of music for free through the service. So how can you get into the streaming madness? Find out after the jump.Now, in the US at least, free but limited Spotify accounts are being given via invites. I know, I know. It seems like you can’t get in anywhere these days without an invite or waiting in line or greasing the bouncer. While that works most of the time, there is always a back door open that you can sneak through- you just have to know where it is. One of the coolest aspects beyond the free streaming (damn I miss my Rhapsody student account from the early 2000s!) is that you can sync your iTunes playlists or create your own Spotify playlists, and share them with friends, rivals and colleagues. It brings your playlist and music into the social realm- something iTunes has not been able to do successfully as of yet. Spotify has been a big success in the UK so far, and it will be interesting to see how well it can stand out from the crowd over here.
