Last year Tenacious D, the rock and comedy act of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, put together the first ever Festival Supreme. Taking place at the Santa Monica Pier, the festival promised a heavy dose of comedy and music. It was supposed to be a welcome new addition to the multitude of festivals that come and go throughout the year. Well, things didn’t go just as planned. The real issue was that someone forgot to organize an actual festival. Fans complained about long lines getting in, the inability to move once inside do to overselling of tickets, and horribly positioned video screens and audio feeds. There were more than a few things to learn from the first year. While we hate to see events leave the Westside, this year’s festival will take place at LA Sports Arena and Exposition. More room is a good thing in this case. Another aspect that has things looking up for this year is the music. While the bands seemed more like an after thought in the first year, this year’s festival features Los Angeles’ favorite sons Eagles of Death Metal, along with other great live acts such as Peaches. More music is a good thing here as well.
Things are looking up for Festival Supreme, let’s see if they can deliver this time around. In this town, your lucky to even get a second chance.
