Every Time I Die are back with new single & video for “Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space”, album release date set

Every Time I Die are set to release their new album Ex-Lives on March 6, 2012.  Today, we have the first single from the new album available for you.  “Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space” gets the single treatment and a music video that is going to make some of you pretty squeamish.  With only one verse of clean vocals, the new song is as chaotic and brutal as 2003’s collection of songs on Hot Damn!.  Check it all out after the jump, as we keep track on this highly anticipated album.

Every Time I Die bring a heavy and calculated approach to pure metal brutality.  Their stage antics, heavy sound and at times catchy-as-hell hooks have helped keep them at the top of their game.  While some people have enjoyed a more approachable sound on albums such as The Big Dirty and 2009’s New Junk Aesthetic, it feels fucking good to hear something like “Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space”.  If this is a single, then the rest of the album should be equally as fierce.  Maybe I can start forgiving the band for having Pete Wentz on a song in their last album.

The video is sure to piss some people off and make many squeamish.  This isn’t the infamous Broken Movie from Nine Inch Nails, but it gets the job done.  Keith Buckley, lead singer of the band, directed the video and has this to say about it:

“In order to write lyrics I had to pay attention to the defeatism that the music suggested. To compile this video I had to acknowledge the masochism I wrote of to myself. You don’t get rewarded for your faith and you don’t get celebrated for your heroism. Just when you find yourself attached, you have lost it. Everything is borrowed. C’est la vie.”

The new album has producer Joe Baressi behind it (Tomahawk, Queens of the Stone Age, Puscifer) which spells only good things for Ex-Lives.  We’ll be all over this album, tour, and other goodies- so check back.
