In the final piece of our 12 part series getting you ready for the best & most entertaining acts at Coachella 2012, we really take it up a notch. The whole world knows now that Tupac is back! Apparently he has been hanging out with those creepy anti-aging dudes who advertise in Southwest Magazine every month, because he looks exactly the same as he did 16 years ago. He surprised Coachella with his two-song appearance last week, coming back to perform “Hail Mary” and “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted” with Dre and Snoop on Sunday. Who knows what Pac is going to say, sing or do on stage this weekend. We get you ready for what might be coming your way!
Dead since September 13, 1996, Tupac just couldn’t hold out any longer and decided to come back to life and music last weekend at Coachella. Yours truly has been pretty hard on the Indio, CA music festival this year. Do you blame me? Bonnaroo got The Beach Boys and Lollapalooza got Black Sabbath. But little did I know, Coachella had the biggest surprise of all-time ready and was about to blow all of our minds by booking California’s prodigal Hip-Hop son! TUPAC! That’s the coolest thing to ever happen at a music festival. You know there had to be at least a dozen or so people who didn’t get the leaked news and thought this was real! It makes me smile just wondering what those people were thinking- too awesome!
Now that Pac is back, who knows what is going to happen. Back in the Digital Underground days, Pac was known for wild and ferocious performances. He was as ruthless on the mic as he was in real life. A personality bigger than anyone before him in Hip Hop or Rap. Someone so confident in himself, acting came as second nature to him- before it was cool to be a singer/actor. When Digital Underground was playing shows around the Bay Area in the early 90s, Pac would bring female fans on stage to… um, “dance” with him. It was wild and crazy times, and the rapper was absolutely entertaining to say the least. So, what does Sunday have in store for Coachelleans waiting to see his next move? Who knows! Maybe he’ll do another song with Dre and Snoop, something like the classic “California Love”. That would be pretty insane! Or, he could do a duet with Bruno Mars in the gangster rap version of “Grenade”. Even better, Pac could do somersaults on stage repeatedly for hours while Dre, Snoop and Eminem perform their latest tracks. The point is, who knows what is going to happen, but what we do know is that Pac is definitely in attendance at Coachella this weekend. So we want to know, “What the fuck is up Coachella!?”
Just don’t trip on any power cords while out there my friends.
