Dropkick Murphys Announce Fall Tour Dates, Title of Forthcoming Album, and Fan Tattoo Project

Dropkick Murphys just announced the title of their forthcoming album, SIGNED and SEALED in BLOOD, to be released in early 2013. The album is their second with producer Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Old Crow Medicine Show), which was recorded at Boston’s Q Division studios and mixed by Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes). “We had such a great time writing our last album, Going Out In Style, we were excited to get back into the studio right away,” says bassist and co-lead singer Ken Casey. “Where Going Out in Style was a concept album-kind of intricate and difficult-this one is catchy, fun, and as sing-along as can be.” Follow the jump for more information on the new album, Dropkick’s Fan Tattoo Project, and fall tour dates… (more…)

LA noise rock band HEALTH is playing a show tonight at The Echo in Los Angeles with Tearist and Eli Glad. Health burst onto the scene when they opened for Nine Inch Nails on part of the Lights in the Sky tour in the fall of 2008, and have been making a name for themselves in the LA scene ever since. Markus Schulz Releases New Album “Scream” Tomorrow, 8/31

Markus Schulz’ new studio album Scream is set to be released tomorrow, August 31st. The 23-track EDM album features singles like “Loops and Tings” (collaboration with Ferry Corsten), “Finish Line” (with Elevation), and “Nothing Without Me” (feat. Ana Diaz). The highly acclaimed DJ/producer, host of Global DJ Broadcast, and owner of Coldharbour Recordings told Rabbits Black that he also plans on headlining the Scream World Tour beginning in early 2013, so stay tuned for alerts and upcoming tour dates. The album release party is at Mansion tomorrow in Miami, so get in line now if you’re already on the peninsula. EXITMUSIC Announce North American Tour This Fall

Brooklyn, NY’s Exitmusic — comprised of Devon Church and Aleksa Palladino — will headline at dates across North America this fall, starting September 30 at Il Motore in Montreal and ending with the Moog Festival in Asheville, NC on October 26. They’ll be playing The Satellite in Los Angeles on October 17th. Following this run of North American dates Exitmusic will head overseas for a tour of Europe in November. Exitmusic released their debut album, Passage, on May 22nd. Recorded at Rare Book Room in Brooklyn with mixer Nicholas Vernhes (Dirty Projectors, Deerhunter), Church and Palladino, along with the assistance of new bandmates drummer Dru Prentiss and live electronics by Nicholas Shelestak, built on the chilling, beautiful aesthetic they had created as a duo when recording at home. The Heavy release new album “The Glorious Dead” and begin North American Tour

English soul-rockers The Heavy released their new full-length album, The Glorious Dead, this week. The Glorious Dead is the band’s third LP and the follow-up to their sophomore record The House That Dirt Built (2009). The Heavy will be performing “What Makes A Good Man?”, The Glorious Dead’s first single, on The Late Show With David Letterman on Thursday, August 30. The band will be making a return appearance after their highly talked-about 2010 performance of their breakout hit “How You Like Me Now?” The Heavy mix together soul, hip-hop, rock, blues and funk to create a unique and memorable sound with wide appeal – as exemplified by the band’s enormous commercial success (by “commercial success”, I refer to the fact that it seems like their songs are used in EVERY commercial). Free Show Alert: Hanni El Khatib @ The Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena, 8/9 (Tonight)

Tonight, Los Angeles-based blues-rock artist Hanni El Khatib is performing a FREE SHOW with the Tijuana Panthers at the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena. The show is one of the highlights of the Levitt Pavilion’s 10th annual summer music festival. El Khatib’s debut album, Will the Guns Come Out, was released on September 27, 2011. The multicultural garage rocker puts on a massive set with just a guitar and drums, in the same vein as The Black Keys (which is an appropriate comparison, since Dan Auerbach is set to produce El Khatib’s second studio album). Yes, everybody’s favorite modern glam rockers are winding up their U.S. tour! ONLY 3 DATES LEFT! Stubb’s in Austin tonight, ROCKLAHOMA tomorrow in Pryor, OK, and the House of Blues Sunday in Dallas, TX. Of course, RABBITS BLACK with will be there for their last US date at the House of Blues in Dallas to give these UK boys a proper send off.  So for any of you huge The Darkness fans out there (myself included – I once flew to London for one night to see them at Alexandra Palace in 2006), or music fans that just happen to find yourself in the Lone Star State this weekend, don’t miss out on your last chance (maybe ever, knowing these guys) to believe in a little thing called Rock and Roll (and party with us).  (more…)
