Alessandro Cortini is at it again. When Cortini released his first true solo album in September of last year, we didn’t really know what to expect. Under the moniker SONOIO, Cortini delivered an emotional and inspired effort that was one of the best kept secrets and surprises of the year. Only 8 months later SONOIO’s second album, RED, is being released and you can download the first 4 tracks for free right now. If you don’t have SONOIO’s first album BLUE on your iPod right now, you are doing yourself a disservice. Cortini has made listening to his music a very simple and affordable process. Taking a que from the master of digital distribution and his past employer, Trent Reznor, Cortini is making various packages available for RED. For only $8 you can download a high quality digital version, or for $2 more you can get a physical CD and digital download. There are other packages available as well, including one which includes a personal synthesizer that can replicate many of the sounds found on the upcoming album. RED doesn’t release officially until June 21st, but for now you can preview the album with four free tracks. Yes, four free and exceptional tracks at that! After a quick listen to the four tracks, you can tell Cortini is feeling more comfortable with SONOIO and has expanded the sound and textures on RED. There is also a promo for RED on Vimeo and a video for the single “Enough”. We can’t wait for RED and you can’t afford to wait to hear these four songs- go do it! Now!
