It’s officially fall and here at Rabbits Black we know its not the changing leaf colors, your little cousin heading back to private school, or the Harvest moon that signifies the changing of the seasons, but the Annual Bridge School Benefit concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. We got our must-see acts and surprise performances in our preview here.
Markus Schulz is having a career year in 2012. He released the mesmerizing Los Angeles 2012 Compilation in February, and then followed that up with his new artist album Scream in August. Add in a world tour that never seems to stop and his weekly radio show Global DJ Broadcast, and you would be right in saying that Markus is at the top of his game right now. Well, let’s now add America’s Best DJ to his list of 2012 accomplishments! You can catch America’s best playing a very special Halloween show in San Francisco on 10/26 at Ruby Skye. Black Box Revelation plays in San Francisco and Los Angeles this month with The Sheepdogs in what is shaping up to be our Show of the Month. We can’t possibly recommend this show to you anymore than we already have, and we really really want to make sure you don’t miss this one. So we are giving away a pair of tickets to both the San Francisco show and the LA show. BBR descends on The Independent on 10/15 and The Troubadour on 10/17. Your friends at Rabbits Black will get you in! (more…)
A Place To Bury Strangers are on a massive European tour in support of one of this year’s best albums Worship. In late October, the noise-rock band will return to the United States and they have two stops scheduled for the West Coast. Once again, The Troubadour and The Independent lock down some of the best live shows coming into town, this time with APTBS and Bleeding Rainbows. Ticket info after the jump. (more…)
What type of show (and band) can possibly rival the mighty Jane’s Addiction for our must-see show of the month honors? That would be one of their former opening acts on the Theatre of the Escapists tour, Black Box Revelation and their shows at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco and The Troubadour in LA. They’ll be opening for The Sheepdogs this time around and while we wish they were getting the top billing and the most stage time, we won’t complain too much. Anything that brings BBR into town makes us happy! Tickets are available now, and you can get them for only $15 at the links found here. (more…)
Jane’s Addiction are starting to fill up October with shows across California, and those proper LA and San Francisco dates that we have been waiting so long for since the Ford Theater shows are finally scheduled. Over a year later from those two nights at the Ford, Jane’s returns to Los Angeles and stops in San Francisco earlier in the month. The Wiltern show is being billed as the last show of the tour, so expect madness during the ticket sales. Ticket info and pre-sale links after the jump. (more…)
‘Why’ was in full force for their long awaited, highly anticipated get down at the Great American this past August 30th. I was told the opening bands would be “Serengeti, Doseone, and DJ Sodapop” but I am pretty sure Will Smith and Carlton Banks (Alfonso Ribiero) opened the night.
Once that horrible catastrophic reunion got over, Yoni Wolf et al. took the stage for what would be a proper culmination of a show two years in the making. I was unaware of this but apparently this show had been put off for some time. ‘Why?’ has recently released a sneak peak of new material and the crowd was a buzz for what they might try. In the short time they were on stage they layered many reasons this band is an extreme underdog. This small tour featured only a few stops and was likely a prep for a larger tour after their album hits stores later this fall. (more…)
