Show & Sweater Alert: Every Time I Die @ Oakland Metro Operahouse 2/15 & The Roxy 2/17

Bands sure are getting cocky these days with 2013 dates.  I guess no one in the music biz thinks the world is going to end in a few weeks.  We’ll make you aware of these shows anyways, just in case.  Every Time I Die are coming back to California in 2013- on tour this time with The Acacia Strain.  It’s nice to have the band headlining this time around, and it should set up a properly festive experience.  While the shows are going to be pretty cool, I’m not sure anything can beat the awesome Christmas sweaters that ETID are releasing tomorrow and for only 48 hours.  Seriously, check these out with ticket info as well. Live Review: Polyrhythmics @ the Boom Boom Room SF

It has been awhile since I have had a chance to see a proper show in a small SF venue (aside from the air guitar finals, damn those guys can really throw down), so I figure it time I got out and found something funky. For any and all of you jazzed out funk heads out there, I will say this, Polyrhythmics, an afro-funk band out of Seattle Washington, is about as cool as Johnny Depp playing George Jung walking through the airport circa 1980, collar popped and shades stunnin with two suitcases full of blow… cool as a mother funker. Couple that style and a 3.5-4 hour set with a sweet little funky jazzy bluesy dance venue nestled in between Japantown and Lower Pac Heights, and you are set up for a very legit evening. (more…)
