As you are packing up and getting ready to make your way to the City by the Bay, Rabbits Black has your guide to Sunday at Outside Lands. Sunday brings perhaps the strongest Twin Peaks line up on EDM, but don’t let that distract you from some of the other great talent that will be performing at Golden Gate Park. With Kaskade as a Twin Peaks closer, Ranger Dave has selected possibly the best way to close out a killer weekend in the park. Hit the jump to check out who else you need to see on Sunday.
Saturday, August 10, 2013, is a very Lands End heavy day at Outside Lands. But can you really blame Ranger Dave for stacking the Lands End deck with such heavy hitters as Jurassic 5 and Nine Inch Nails? Yeah, neither could we. With so many acts billed on the same stage, take advantage and take on Outside Lands like a true San Franciscan: armed with some of the best food in the country, perfectly paired with your favorite libation. Because you don’t have to lose precious minutes bouncing down the (often long) path between stages on Saturday, use this opportunity to sample some of the finest chefs and restauranteurs the Bay Area has to offer. Lands End is surrounded with almost every type of food imaginable, and you can sample tasty bites without ever having to leave the comforting sounds of the stage. Hit the jump to see what acts Rabbits Black will be catching on Saturday.

The Postal Service’s “Give Up” shifted the emo-indie world of 2003 to a happier place. Its words resonated with the aching hearts of teenagers everywhere, but its “techy-beats” morphed ever-fashionable, emo tears into really bad, white kid dance moves. Still, the album was uplifting, much like Friday night’s 10-year reunion show at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre.
So you’re new to Outside Lands and you’re not sure how to navigate your way around the City. Even if you’re a San Francisco veteran, Outside Lands is a whole different beast. From grabbing the right bus and getting to Golden Gate Park efficiently, to continuing the party after 10 p.m., getting in and around San Francisco is not as straightforward as it usually is when Ranger Dave brings his acts to town. Rabbits Black has tips for you to avoid getting passed up by MUNI and escaping the tens of thousands of people pouring into the streets each night of Outside Lands.
Outside Lands is just under two weeks away! By now, you better have your travel and lodging all figured out, but fear not – there are always last minute options in the City by the Bay. Rabbits Black will have your guide for getting to and around San Francisco soon, but first, the most important part of August 9-11: The music! Outside Lands, unlike some of the other heavy hitting festivals, is not always about the party. It won’t be uncommon for you to see families with toddlers in tow sitting down to enjoy the festival jams. With acts ranging from Sir Paul McCartney to Wavves, Outside Lands packs a lineup to draw literally from every generation. Friday at Outside Lands is no exception, and with such a talented lineup, Rabbits Black couldn’t even make a definitive decision on whom to see. There are some obvious musts, but in addition, check out who we are making a point to see and why after the jump.
There were no big surprises this past Friday at Ruby Skye nightclub in San Francisco from House Producer/DJ Mord Fustang, just the steady thump of the bass line set below a series of whimsical synth chords, and the busy bee himself, Mord, tending to his equipment to ensure that beat would not quit until he left. Outside Lands releases stellar 2013 Lineup – Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers to headline
So what music festival in California booked the most impressive headliners this year? It’s a competition between BottleRock in Napa and Outside Lands in San Francisco. Outside Lands released their 2103 lineup today, and it’s packed with the type of eclectic music and bands that fit the Bay Area perfectly. Want that one headliner you can’t see at any other festival this year? Paul McCartney. Two huge iconic bands that would be headliners anywhere in the world? Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers. And that’s just at the top. Throughout the lineup you will find artists who are not playing any other festivals: Willie Nelson, Gary Clark Jr., Kaskade, even Hall and Oates (yes, that Hall and Oates). Check out the goodness here! (more…)
Ranger Dave is back with another event in Golden Gate Park! True to form, Outside Lands will land in San Francisco in early August; the 9th-11th to be exact. Although no lineup has been announced yet, we can expect the staples currently touring the festival circuit, and at least one headliner to pull in a multi-generational crowd. Tickets for Outside Lands go on sale Thursday, April 4.
