The last day of a three day music festival is never easy.  You’re tired (or at least you should be by now), you’ve run out of suitable clothes for the heat and long days and nights, and you are starting to think about life back at home and at work.  That doesn’t mean you just throw up your hands and give up- it actually means quite the opposite at Lollapalooza.  With a packed Sunday lineup that includes probably the weekends greatest variety of acts, Sunday at Lollapalooza is one you can’t miss or take lightly.  It’s a full day of great music that culminates with a closing set from first time Lollapalooza performers The Cure. We knew Josh Homme and Trent Reznor loved working together as musicians and friends- Trent was originally slated to produce the new Queens album …Like Clockwork until scheduling conflicts came up.  It looks like Trent’s unique experimentation with digital music distribution might have worn off on Josh a little bit.  Either that or Josh really just wanted to make the world’s coolest bottle opener.  Queens of the Stone Age are offering their killer new album …Like Clockwork on USB drives that also double as a bottle opener.  Pretty damn cool way to open a beer and enjoy some tunes.  Watch the infomercial for the USB drives here and maybe even place an order or three. Show Preview & Interview: The Sister Ruby Band @ O’Brien’s 6/15

Tomorrow night in Santa Monica we are bringing together two of our favorite bands on this coast.  The Sister Ruby Band hail from Los Angeles, but their sound brings together the spirits of Americana rock n’ roll.  Zodiac Death Valley are making the journey down the coast from San Francisco where they have been hailed as one of the city’s best local bands.  With a special opening set by Jess Furman and a closing DJ set by Rabbits Black, all of it comes together tomorrow night in an intimate setting that promises fans a show that they’ll be able to feel and hear up close and personal.  We talked with Marlon Rabenreither, the soul of The Sister Ruby Band, about tomorrow’s show and what the band has been working on this year.
