It’s officially fall and here at Rabbits Black we know its not the changing leaf colors, your little cousin heading back to private school, or the Harvest moon that signifies the changing of the seasons, but the Annual Bridge School Benefit concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. We got our must-see acts and surprise performances in our preview here.
‘Why’ was in full force for their long awaited, highly anticipated get down at the Great American this past August 30th. I was told the opening bands would be “Serengeti, Doseone, and DJ Sodapop” but I am pretty sure Will Smith and Carlton Banks (Alfonso Ribiero) opened the night.
Once that horrible catastrophic reunion got over, Yoni Wolf et al. took the stage for what would be a proper culmination of a show two years in the making. I was unaware of this but apparently this show had been put off for some time. ‘Why?’ has recently released a sneak peak of new material and the crowd was a buzz for what they might try. In the short time they were on stage they layered many reasons this band is an extreme underdog. Knick knack, paddy whack, let Rabbits Black give you a bone to help you through September. Are you a big fan of the deep baritone vox of “the National”, “Interpol” and the like? Well look no further than the now 30 years old “SWANS”. Up for grabs we have TWO (2) tickets to see them live at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco this coming Monday the 10th! (more…)
It’s Outside Lands Week here at Rabbits Black! To kick it off, Rabbits Black has a sneak peek of what you can expect from performers comedian Chris Hardwick [Nerdist.com, the Talking Dead], comedian David Cross [Arrested Development, Bigger and Blackerer], and drummer Lars Ulrich [Metallica], as Golden Gate Park’s Ranger Dave prepares for his annual party. Show Alert: Circa Survive + Balance and Composure @ Fox Theatre 10/7, Club Nokia 10/10, & Regency Ballroom 10/11
Well read, charismatic, and benevolent rock act Circa Survive hit the road this fall with hometown pals Balance and Composure for the Violent Waves Tour, supporting their album of the same name, out August 28th. If Rabbits Black has ever steered you wrong, forget it. This can’t miss comes to Pomona’s Fox Theatre October 7th, LA’s Club Nokia on October 10th, and San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom on October 11th.
Highlighted in part eight of our Outside Lands primer series, Modesto’s own, Grandaddy, are set to reunite under the Golden Gate sun. There are many reasons to bear witness to the replay and one should be mindful of all the forces at work that promise to make this an extremely dynamic show. (more…)

Wolf, co-founder of LA-based Anticon, and company (Josiah Wolf, Doug McDiarmid, and Liz Hodson) are taking their act on the road in August and September. (more…)
