Incan Abraham set for February residency every Monday at the Bootleg

There is an undeniable and expansive sea of indie music in Los Angeles and San Francisco making the rounds and case to be heard amongst the rest.  Trust us, there is no shortage of quality indie music out there.  The challenge is finding those that stand above the rest.  It’s easy to find out that the latest Jane’s Addiction album is amazing, or that The Growlers are becoming a must-see act at Coachella this year.  It’s harder to find out that Incan Abraham might be a band that deserves your listening time.  Here is the perfect opportunity to find out.  Music and residency dates after the jump.

We present to you, Incan Abraham- one of those thousands of bands looking to catch your ear, and one that might just do that.  They’ll be playing all month at the Bootleg.  The Bootleg is the smaller stage set up at the Bootleg Theater, one of LA’s great live music venues.  If you haven’t been there, they usually play host to a hipster crowd with cheap beers and great stage setup.  It’s worth checking out, and this February you can see Incan Abraham there every Monday for FREE.

The band was founded in 2009 in New York, but they’ve made the trek back to their hometown of LA recently.  They’ve recorded 3 EPs over the past two years, and played SXSW in 2011, receiving critical acclaim from Time Magazine for their SXSW performance.  You can listen to their latest EP, Ancient Vacation, from October of 2011 below.  With a floating and ethereal sound that wanders the mind, the vocals are a calming sense of peace in a traveling flow of guitars and light percussion.  There’s a subtle touch of Radiohead in the production, and it works.  It’s impossible not to imagine yourself swaying away to these sounds as a hot summer day in LA fades to night.  Give it a shot this February- it might be just what you were looking for.
