It’s a good day in the San Francisco music scene when you get to announce that The Brian Jonestown Massacre are back. The group was founded in the early 90s in San Francisco, and went on to achieve a cult following around their 12 studio albums. On May 1st, the band will release their 13th LP, Aufheben. Very little information has been released about the album, and we have yet to hear any songs from Aufheben. The band will support their May release with a spring tour, which makes a stop at The Fillmore and Wiltern in May.
Mark that Fillmore date on your calendar San Francisco, as its been awhile since the band has had a hometown show. Tickets are not on sale yet, but we’ll update this post with ticket info once available. Check back here for the latest songs and news regarding the new album. We should start hearing things soon, but in typical Anton Newcombe fashion, we may get very little info for awhile. Regardless, mark your calendars for this highly anticipated album and show dates. The band last played the Fillmore on June 21st, 2010- almost two years ago from the date of their upcoming show.
UPDATE: The ticket links are live. Tickets go on sale starting January 29th for the Fillmore and this Friday for the Wiltern. Get em!
